Judge Hunter Murphy is retired from the North Carolina Court of Appeals.  While on the bench, he served the people of North Carolina reviewing thousands of trial court and agency decisions.  Judge Murphy also wrote hundreds of opinions and orders handling all aspects of the law.

Prior to his time on the bench, Judge Murphy was a litigator and often battled with insurance companies on behalf of his clients.  He successfully settled many cases without having to go to court, but knows how to try a case to a verdict if necessary.  In his of counsel role with Storm Law Partners, Judge Murphy brings decades of experience to help our clients and collaborate with our attorneys on all aspects of the law.

Judge Murphy resides in Johnston County with his wife, teenage twins, and two elderly pugs.  He enjoys playing D&D with his daughter and carspotting and swimming with his son.  

Judge Murphy is a member of the North Carolina Bar and has been admitted to the bars of the Federal Court for the Western District of North Carolina and the Tribal Courts of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
