Experience and Background
Derek L. Fadner is a distinguished property damage lawyer and the Managing Attorney of Storm Law Partners, where he combines his extensive legal expertise with a commitment to advocating for policyholders’ rights. A native Texan, Derek grew up in Corpus Christi before returning to Houston at the age of twelve, where his passion for justice and dedication to service were first ignited.
After graduating from high school, Derek enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he cultivated invaluable qualities of commitment, resilience, and leadership—principles that he continues to embody in his legal practice. Following four years of honorable service, he transitioned to civilian life and pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Texas A&M University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law.
During law school, Derek honed his advocacy skills through rigorous participation in national moot court competitions, contributing to the school’s prestigious trial advocacy program. His dedication to excellence was recognized with multiple awards, including the Dean T. Gerald Treece “Heart of the South Texas Advocate” Award, which celebrates his spirit and commitment to advocacy.
