Our Texas property damage lawyers recognize the power of community. Our neighbors and neighborhoods help shape us into the people we’re meant to be. Now, Storm Law Partners wants to celebrate the impact our communities have on our everyday lives by offering students the chance to apply for the new Building Forward from Home Scholarship.
The Building Forward from Home Scholarship promises $2,500 to a student who can eloquently describe the impact their community had on their goals for the future. Students interested in applying for this scholarship should create a three-minute video discussing their relationship with their community and how they hope to give back to their neighbors in the future.
Students have until January 15, 2026, to complete and submit their applications. We wish all of our applicants the best of luck!
Application Requirements
Storm Law Partners invites undergraduate and graduate students to apply for the Building Forward from Home Scholarship. Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for consideration:
- Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted at an accredited United States trade school, college, university, and/or graduate school.
- Applicants must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions and submit all necessary application materials.
The team asks that students create a video of up to three minutes discussing their connection to their community and how they might give back to that community in the years to come. To complete their scholarship applications, students should fill out the application form on this page and include a URL link to their video.
Students can upload their videos to YouTube as unlisted videos, then share a link to those listings through the form on this page.
Scholarship Video Topic
Students interested in applying for the Building Forward from Home Scholarship should take up to three minutes in a video to discuss their commitment to their school and larger community. The team with Storm Law Partners specifically wants students to go into detail about what their communities mean to them.
We recommend that students record their videos in well-lit areas. Stabilizing a recording device will produce a better video. Students should also mention their full name and the name of the Building Forward from Home Scholarship at the beginning of their videos.
We encourage students to use media editing tools to improve their videos, but the quality of a student’s edit will not impact the scholarship selection committee’s assessment of their work. Students who want to supplement a script with additional footage should only use copyright-free content and cite that content alongside any editing software they used to make their videos.
Storm Law Partners’ AI Policy
The scholarship selection committee wants students to share original ideas and perspectives on their relationships with their communities. As such, the team will not consider any videos created with AI.
Students may use AI to create B-roll footage for their videos. However, the inappropriate use of AI to modify a student’s voice, draft a script, and/or create fake actors will see a student’s application removed from the applicant pool.
Scholarship Deadline
Students have until January 15, 2026, to complete their videos and submit them for Storm Law Partners’ consideration. The scholarship selection committee will not consider applications submitted after this deadline passes.
The team reserves up to three months to choose a winner after the deadline passes. We ask that neither students nor their families reach out to our team with questions about the status of a student’s application during this timeframe.
